I was particularly impressed with Dr Sha's approach during my appointment, he was interested in my experience as opposed to just relying on my medical notes and MRI results which were mainly inconclusive. He took the time to demonstrate by means of a model knee exactly what was happening when I walked or exercised to assist my understanding and consequently my acceptance of the current diagnosis and the appropriatiness of his recommendations. He combined a medical and therapeutic approach to my consultation which was instrumental in allaying both my physical and emotional trepidation. As a result of his recommendations and physiotherapy I have regained improved mobility in my knee and have avoided early surgery. An excellent consultant who exhibits an holistic centred approach. I was diagnosed with arthritis in my hip at the age of 34. I was devastated. The pain got steadily worse until I requested a hip replacement at the age of 41. I was referred to my first consultant and did not feel comfortable. It was nothing this consultant did wrong, I just was very nervous about the whole procedure, especially being so young. When I met with Mr Shah, all my worries faded away. He was great at the consultations before the operation, during my hospital stay and the aftercare. I was walking the day after the operation and climbing stairs the day after that. I was badly bruised and very sore for about 3 weeks following the op, but after that, it has been amazing. My op was 12 months ago. Mr Shah angled the cut in such a way that the scar is hardly visible when wearing a swimming costume. The scar is very neat and isn't that noticeable. The replacement itself went so well, I sometimes forget that I have had my hip replaced. I forgot what it felt like to walk normally with no limp or pain. It has been life changing. Mr Shah himself was great. I wanted to see the bone that he had removed, that had caused me such anguish. He advised this was unusual but was happy to oblige. I do not have any critism to make of his skills or care. He has improved my life beyond my expectations.

My hip replacement has been an outstanding success. Now, I can climb mountains, ski, and go mountain biking again when before the operation I couldn't walk for five minutes without being in pain. The care provided by Mr Shah and his team has been excellent before, during and after my operation.

Mr Shah When I was finally seem by Mr Shah he was very help full. The operation seems to have gone well. The follow up treatment in the ward, was poor and I did not remember seeing him after operation the ward. Peter Saunders

I don't think knee surgeons get any better than Zameer Shah. Thorough, realistic, always listening and an outstanding surgeon. My total knee replacement on July 4 2015 saw me practically running upstairs on July 7! An x-ray of the new knee a month later for another surgeon (to make sure it was strong enough for me to undergo a complex ankle fusion), revealed a perfect result. Mr Shah's fellow consultant commented on the precision of the work. The result has been smooth and simple. I obtained a 'range' of 105 degrees two days after surgery. Now ten weeks later, my knee feels strong and my walking is back to normal. First Class all the way.
